Telecaster and essayist Sue Perkins is the following host of Radio 4's long-running test show Just a Minute.
Her arrangement follows the demise of Nicholas Parsons, who facilitated the program for over fifty years.
Radio 4 has been utilizing a pivoting series of visitor moderators since Parsons kicked the bucket in January of last year.
Yet, Perkins, who is a normal Just A Minute hopeful, will venture into the job all day when the parody show starts its approaching 87th series.
The test requests that specialists represent 60 seconds about a specific subject decisively, reiteration or deviation.
Late visitor has have included Jo Brand, Gyles Brandreth, Paul Merton, Stephen Fry, Nish Kumar, Lucy Porter, Tom Allen and Jenny Eclair.
Perkins said: "I'm past charmed to be approached to have this generally unbelievable of shows. Nicholas' shoes are too enormous to fill, however I will bring my own shoes, and work my socks off in them to keep our audience members engaged."
Mohit Bakaya, regulator of Radio 4, added: "A redundancy of Nicholas Parsons' particular, and much missed, virtuoso, was rarely reasonable, and a deviation was consistently on the cards. In any case, it is without a second thought that I declare my outright pleasure that Sue Perkins has consented to be the new host of Just a Minute.
"She is a splendid, sharp humorist, who will, I know, make JAM her own. I anticipate hearing how she will hold any semblance of Paul and Gyles to account as she keeps the banner flying on this much cherished individual from the Radio 4 family."
Parsons' widow, Annie, said Perkins had her full help, adding that that she "had almost certainly that Nicholas would be charmed" with her arrangement.
Perkins previously showed up on Just A Minute in 2000. The following series of the show starts on Monday 6 September on Radio 4 and BBC Sounds.
